The business was experiencing change and transformation with a need to establish a shared identity, while protecting the uniqueness of the individual business units.
The Brief:
Develop a leadership framework which defines what leadership means for Tyréns UK, aligned to organisational vision and values, and supports the development of capability throughout the organisation.
The opportunities:
- A new Senior Leadership Team: Looking to establish a common purpose and identity.
- Technical Expertise vs. People Leadership: Strong technical skills across the business overshadowing a lack of depth in leadership skills.
- Attraction and Retention: An organisation looking to grow in a competitive market for talent.
- Succession planning: future-proofing leadership an organisational priority.
The Solution:
Phase 1: SLT alignment
We facilitated two sessions which enabled the SLT to assess their personal leadership approach and impact, to establish a common language, and to reach agreement and consensus on what was required from leaders across the organisation.

Phase 2: Leadership Framework.
We ran several employee focus groups with colleagues from all levels within the organisation, to understand what it felt like to work at Tyréns UK and to assess the impact and qualities of their leaders. We then provided a detailed summary and observations to the SLT.
The framework was developed to align with Tyréns UK values, incorporated the voice and language of the business, and captured the core competencies identified throughout the process.

Phase 3: Next steps
We collaborated with the SLT to help them identify next steps, build momentum and to make the framework a practical tool.
